Stanko works on efficient systems infrastructure for Google. His research background is in operating systems, networked systems and computer architecture. Before joining Google, Stanko was at Microsoft Research where he worked on leveraging virtualization and emerging hardware to improve the cost efficiency of cloud platforms. Before Microsoft, Stanko worked on distributed systems that use a high-performance network for fast access to remote data. He won the Best Paper Award at SYSTOR 2019, Best Paper Honorable Mention at SIGMOD 2019, and a Distinguished Paper Award at ASPLOS 2023. Stanko holds a PhD in Computer Science from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL).
